Why store freeze dried food?

Today society is not prepared. Most families live paycheck to paycheck and take risks with this every day. About 100 years ago times were much different people and families took precautions had food and water storages and because of them we were assured survival.

What if something were to happen today? Remember 911 how about the floods down south which people starved and were sick from drinking contaminated water. It only takes an instant to turn for the worse you do not usually get warning and if there is a warning and everyone knows the shelves in the stores go bare. You dont even have to consider war as the biggest concern. How about loss of employment, strikes, layoffs, job change with reduced income, a major injury, natural disaster, illness, oil crisis or a death of a primary family member. Any one of these life changing events can impact your way of life and survival.

If there was a natural disaster today causing problems such as; no work, power outages, stores not opening or depleded supplies could you feed your family for 30 days? Now say that the disaster was larger on a national level could you feed your family for 6-12 months? If you really think about this it should scare you to even think that there are people in this situation. A food storage plan is not hard to implement and is great insurance for you and your family.

You can easily start off by buying a few cans of freeze dried foods a month. You can easily store the cans for 20-30 years. They should be stored in a cool dark place that is about 1-5 miles from your home. My family and I choose to rent a storage rental space 3 miles from our home where we store our emergency rations. It is far enough away from water so flooding is not an issue and is secure. Another important thing is not to tell anyone about your food storage because in a desperate situation of survival you could be robbed of your supplies by family or a friend.

You can find great deals on freeze dried food and many of the survival supplies you need at www.protectionsupplies.net.
